Compass

The navigators use a compass for the navigation. Another way to determine the north is by use of your watch. If you hold your watch horizontal and point the hour hand to the sun, the south will “approximately” lie at a point midway between the center of 12 and the hour hand. Thus if it’s 10:00am, the hour 11 will point South. If it’s 6:00pm the hour 3 will point south, and so forth.
